About the library

The Ismail Raji al-Faruqi Library is dedicated to Professor (Dr.) Ismail Raji al-Faruqi (1921-1986) who through his exceptional ability to explore, think and articulate became a fearless champion of Islam in the West. His books, articles, and lectures laid the foundation for new research and scholarship on Islam during the second half of the twentieth century. The Ismail Raji al-Faruqi Library provides resources in a variety of format.
The library is the backbone of an educational institute. The library at JIT has a vast collection of approx 4000 Titles and 23000 volumes. The non-book materials collection includes CDs, VCDs, and Audio Cassettes. More than 100 International and National journals, periodicals, magazines, newspapers, etc. are available for students-Faculty and staff.

The library work is handled with the help of SOUL software. The fully barcode based Circulation System for updating its collection helps the students to remain abreast of the latest information.

The Library has a rich collection of books on science and technology including chemistry, mathematics, physics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, textile engineering, biochemical and biomedical engineering. Besides, Library also has a good collection in the areas of Art, humanities, social sciences and commerce.

The library is equipped with state of art technology and centralized air-conditioned halls providing a congenial environment for learning. College also offers Book-Bank facility where all textbooks in each semester are provided to the students other than reference books. The Library runs on software for smooth day to day working and also offers computers for online access to the e-books and e-journals.
