Course Brief

Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is one of the fastest growing technology areas. ECE focuses on the conceptualization, design and development of electronic, computer and communication products, systems, services and processes.

ECE concentrates on the design and development of electronic equipment such as circuits and devices for electronic communications. Today, electronics has become an all-pervasive technology that finds applications in many areas of engineering including computers, communication, defense, mechatronics, instrumentation, automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, computer networks, satellites, education, etc. The field of communication has benefited significantly from the growth of electronics technology.

Course Info

At JIT, the degree programme recognizes the need for partnership with industry to designing courses reflective of engineering practice. The students learn and practice analogue and digital communications, sensors, imaging, control instruments, electronic design, signal processing, and telecommunications and computer networks as part of their studies. The students benefit from a wide-ranging exploration of areas such as electronic circuitry, diagnostic techniques, applied mathematics, process control, and computer systems/ networks. At the senior levels the students focus  on  applying  learned  principles  to  the  design  and  testing  of  projects  in  electronic communications. Additionally, the students study advanced communication topics, including digital and data communications, the characteristics of signals and transmission media, HDTV, satellite, microwave, PCs and cellular wireless systems, as well as broadband for domestic use.
