About JETGI
Jahangirabad Educational Trust (JET) was established in 2001 to support the cause of technical and professional education with a focus on less developed segments of the society in general and Muslim minority community in particular. Jahangirabad Media Institute (JMI) was the first institution initiated by JET offering broadly-based professional certificate programs in electronic media, subsequently adding postgraduate programs in business administration and mass
communications. In 2009, JET started Jahangirabad Educational Trust Group of Institutions (JETGI) as an integrated campus of higher learning called the Jahangirabad Institute of Technology (JIT), offering engineering and management programs approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
JETGI trustees and supporters are professionally successful and passionate Indians who have come together to promote affordable quality education. The location selected is least developed and minority concentrated district of Uttar Pradesh (UP), which is about 40 km from Lucknow city. Barabanki of eastern UP has not been viable in technology development and lags behind noticeably in modern industrial facilities until the fort was transformed into JIT- a place of
distinctive higher learning. JETGI is founded to espouse and cherish the goals of vigorous pursuit of learning, promoting higher standards of instruction, and offering scholarships to deserving candidates. The overarching goal is to enhance the intellectual, cultural, economic and social well being of the less developed section of the society, especially Muslim minority.

History
The historic and magnificent Jahangirabad Fort provides the backdrop for the campus facilities. The campus is sprawled over 50 acres with a lush green and pollution-free environment for various events and activities.
The name Jahangirabad originates from the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. The founder, however, was Qidwatuddin who came from Arabia during the rule of Shahabuddin Gori. The main Jahangirabad Estate lay in Barabanki and Lucknow. During the rule of Raja Tasadduq Rasul Khan (Granted title in 1983) the fort and the mosque were built in Jahangirabad village, Barabanki, rebuilt later by his successor and elder son Maharaja Ejaz Rasule in the early 1900s.Further additions to the estate came with the services of Sir Walter Bruley Griffin, worldrenowned architect and designer of the city of Canberra, Australia.

Greetings!
I would like to see coming to life the Jahagirabad Institute of Technology (JIT) branding as a campus for distinctive learning, and I am inviting the JIT community to take the lead in achieving this goal with inspiration from the words of wisdom through the ages, such as,
“Education is not the filling of a vessel but the kindling of a flame”, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire”, “The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows”, and “Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectations. Let curiosity be the driving force for innovation and creativity in learning at JIT.
