Campus Facilities at Jahangirabad Institute of Technology (JIT)
Jahangirabad Institute of Technology (JIT) is on the path of becoming a reliable name in the field of technology, media and management education while it is committed to providing students the finest facilities so that JIT becomes an excellent seat of learning.
After class rooms, if there is one place that can be termed as the hub for learning in an institution, it has to be the library. The Al-Farooqui Library at JIT is dedicated to Professor (Dr.) Ismail Ragi Al Farooqui (1921-1986). His work laid the foundation for new research and scholarship on Islam during the second half of the 20th century.
The library at JIT has a rich collection of more than 4000 titles and 23000 volumes on science and technology, arts, humanities, social sciences and commerce. The collection extends to CDs, VCDs and audio cassettes and provides access to more than 100 International and National journals, periodicals, magazines, newspapers, etc.
The centrally air-conditioned library is equipped with computers for online access to the e-books and e- journals and runs on state of the art technology for its day to day working.
At JIT, we don’t just focus on academics; our efforts also include steps to instill a sense of belonging in the students.
Thus, our campus residential blocks are equipped with all the necessary facilities to help the students feel at home when they aren’t busy studying.
There are separate, well maintained blocks for girls and boys. The hostels have spacious rooms to make them feel comfortable and secure.
Jahangirabad Institute of Technology enjoys good connectivity from Barabanki. To ensure that the students enjoy a stress-free and smooth commute, we have a fleet of high capacity buses for the day scholars that operate on a non-profit model.
Health and safety of the students is given the utmost priority at JIT. For this purpose, we have a dedicated medical facility that is suitable to cover the needs of over one thousand people. Any emergency is taken care of by a qualified medical officer. The facility to move the patient to a nearby hospital in case of an emergency is readily available.
JIT is committed to serving the society; hence we also extend our medical facilities to others who live in the areas close by.
Special care is taken to ensure that the students are provided hygienic and healthy food. The girls’ and boys’ hostels have their own dining areas, in addition to which we also have a cafeteria in the campus so that the students can enjoy different delicacies within the campus.
The historical Jahangirabad palace is also home to a grand mosque, which over the years was reduced to a dilapidated state. It was initially founded by Raja Tassaduq Rasool Quidwai of Jahangirabad around 1895 and later re-constructed by Maharaja Ejaz Rasool Quidwai in 1920-1921.
However, with the aids from Dr. Amina Kareem and Mr. Kasim Kareem, Jahangirabad Educational Trust (JET), the mosque was renovated to its magnificent splendour in 2006. It was also renamed as “Masjid-e-Kareem”.
With so much already in place, the Jahangirabad Educational Trust is relentlessly working to improve upon the infrastructure and facilities to take the campus to a world class level. Visit us to get a personal experience and a guided tour.
